Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 11 Aug 2026
Sicuro Group, a global risk management and operational resilience firm, has appointed Miles Watt, CSMP, MBCI, as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). The appointment brings an experienced crisis and security leader into the company’s executive team. It comes as Sicuro Group continues to expand its crisis response, travel risk, business continuity and risk management services.
Miles joined Sicuro Group earlier this year as Senior Advisor, Security and Resilience Consultant. He brought extensive experience in designing, digitizing and implementing risk and resilience programs. His programs have a track record of being effective, cost-conscious, and embedded at every level of the business.
Since joining the business, Miles has supported several of Sicuro Group’s core services. He coordinated large-scale evacuation operations for multiple clients, moving more than 4,000 people across the GCC during the recent regional conflict. He also delivered risk and resilience consultancy to clients across multiple sectors.
He played a crucial role in supporting SicuroResponse clients across key sectors including FMCG, banking and finance, legal services, logistics, technology and consulting. His advice and execution enabled clients to relocate staff where needed, and gave others the confidence to remain in place.
Miles brings nearly two decades of experience, including more than a decade in senior leadership experience across the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Now, as COO, he will oversee Sicuro Group’s global operations. He will focus on strengthening service delivery, improving operational readiness and integrating the company’s people, processes and technology. He will also support the company’s continued growth while maintaining consistent standards across the more than 140 countries in which Sicuro Group operates.
Commenting on the appointment, Rafal Hyps, Chief Executive Officer of Sicuro Group, said, “Miles combines strategic thinking with extensive hands-on operational experience. He understands what organizations need to prepare for disruption and, importantly, what it takes to respond effectively when a crisis unfolds. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to expand our capabilities and deliver practical, integrated risk solutions to clients around the world.”
Miles Watt, Chief Operating Officer at Sicuro Group, said, “Having previously been a client of Sicuro Group, I have always been impressed with Sicuro’s ability to respond quickly to client needs with credible, scalable, best in class solutions. Now, as the COO, I look forward to working with the team to further improve our services and provide greater value and assurance to our clients. We have a fantastic team in place with a wealth of experience. Our people, coupled with increased integration of technologies positions us as the vendor of choice for clients looking to build or enhance resilience programs.”
Miles began his career in 2006 as an infantry officer in the British Army Infantry. He served on combat operations in Afghanistan and supported security operations for the London Olympics and the British Overseas Territories.
He later joined Olive Group as Security Operations Manager. Within a year, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer for Olive Group’s East Africa business. Before joining Sicuro Group, he held senior security, crisis management and business continuity roles at Petrofac.
Miles is a member of the Business Continuity Institute and holds a Level 6 Diploma as a Certified Security Management Professional. He received a gallantry award for his service in Afghanistan. He also founded the Security and Resilience Professionals’ Network in the UAE.
